Day # 237

Sorry to be M.I.A. this month blog readers but January has truly been an insane month.

To update you on the job front, I’m moving to a new building next week. So the last week has been full of going through and updating all my files, packing and training my current co-worker on what projects she’s taking over while at the same time trying to do my new job. I’m blessed to have a fabulous husband who has listen to me whine over the last 22 days.

A bright spot in all of this mess is a “Gender Revealing” party that I planned last week for our friends Elizabeth and Marc. I saw on idea and thought, well I can totally pull it off. The theme of the party is that the guest where what color they think that the baby is (pink for girls; blue for boys) and then the couple reveals the answer at the event.

A fun way to reveal it is to make cupcakes with the gumball of the correct color in the center. Then your guests eat the cake at the same time. Since, I didn’t want to find out if they were having a boy or a girl before the party; I decided to take it up a level by having our bakery bake two cakes – one pink and one blue – and have Elizabeth call in the order for the correct cake. Then later that night, at the party, Elizabeth and Marc cut the cake to reveal the big news. It was cute and best of all, the bakery got really into it.

Here are a few photos from the night. Enjoy!

Even the kids got into the action.
